Beer Regatta 2020 statement
We find ourselves in unprecedented times and the Regatta Committee thought it important to bring you all up to date with our current plans. No one knows what the situation will be in the summer, but the majority of our events are organised ‘in house’ by local people, and decisions on many of our significant costs, such as insurance, can be delayed until much nearer the time. Therefore, we will continue to plan for Regatta 2020 but we want to make you aware of some decisions we have already taken.
Year in, year out, Beer Regatta has been supported by our brilliant local business, many of whom have had to close during this time. It would not be right to ask for any financial support from them this year so we have decided to cancel the Grand Draw and we will only produce a very simple programme which will not include any adverts. We all hope that Regatta 2020 will be another great week, and something to look forward to. We know many of you love coming to Beer and, should Government Policy allow, we look forward to seeing you all in the summer however, in the meantime, please comply with the current restrictions: stay safe, keep well, stay at home and, if you don’t live here, please stay away.
For local Coronavirus support, regular updates, information and activities from the Beer Action Group (BAG) please go to beervillage.co.uk website or the beervillageuk and Beer Memories facebook pages.
