Welcome to Beer Regatta
“We’re delighted to welcome you to the brand new Beer Regatta website!
From Barrel Rolling in the main street, decorated rafts, beach huts and even decorated children in the Fancy Dress Competition to the Coastguard Display, canoes packed with children sliding down the pebbles into the sea, lots of different races – on land and on the sea, for all ages – angling competitions, the Regatta Dance, music, crafts, barbecues, traditional cream teas – albeit with the optional added extra of a glass of Prosecco! – a rousing sing song, or as we call it ‘Wookie’s Zing Zong, Bingo, children’s entertainers and craft competitions, finished off by fabulous fireworks – there really is something for everyone during Beer Regatta Week!
Every year people come back to Beer especially for Regatta Week – many are from local families – ‘Beer Boys’ and ‘Beer Girls’ who have moved away but love to be back in the village during this special week. Others are visitors who come year after year, sometimes because they came as children and they now bring their own children! Some are ‘first-timers’ who are often amazed by the variety and quality of the activities we put on for all the family.
Beer Regatta Week is a proper village event, organised by volunteers, supported by local clubs, organisations, societies and businesses. We are hugely grateful to the local businesses who help to sponsor the event – please see further details on our ‘Local Info’ page – and to those who so generously donate prizes for the Annual Grand Draw.
We’d also like to say a big thank you to all of you who come to take part, to cheer on, to race, to sail, to fish, to dance, to eat, to watch, to decorate, to Spoof, to sing, to listen, to laugh, to paint, to dress up…..to just have fun! It really wouldn’t be the same without you! – Hope to see you again this summer!”
